Elton John Finalizing Guest-Laden New Album
Elton John appears ready to issue a new album, as his longtime writing partner Bernie Taupin wrote on his website that the team has "cut fifteen songs ranging from Stones like rockers, Country tinged ballads, Gospel and even a Sinatra like weepy similar to something torn from the grooves of [Sinatra's 1955 album] In the Wee Small Hours.”
The upcoming project also finds John and Taupin teaming up with singer songwriter Leon Russell and "Godfather of grunge" Neil Young.
Additionally, T Bone Burnett has been tapped to produce, and a backing band featuring Marc Ribot, drummer Jim Keltner, Jay Bellerose, Dennis Crouch and Keefus Ciancia has been recruited.
